"The more infectious variants are less likely to emerge, but we've had a lot of surprises in this pandemic. Omicron will create a lot of immunity for at least next year. Maybe we should be vaccinated every year for COVID-19 for some time," continued Bill Gates.
Previously, Bill Gates has also discussed the Omicron variant. He said Omicron spread faster than any other virus in history. "This virus will soon be in every country in the world," he warned.
"If there's any good news here, it's that Omicron is moving so fast that once it becomes dominant in a country, the wave should last in less than three months," Gates said.
According to him, at that time the conditions might be bad, but he still believes that if the right precautions are taken on the Omicron variant, the Corona pandemic can end in 2022.
