Gojek through its GoFood service is a pioneer in automation technology in Indonesian food delivery services by introducing the use of robots in its ecosystem, to continue to develop food delivery services in Indonesia.
"Innovation has always been our pulse at Gojek. We consistently look for ways to use technology to develop services and solutions," said Gojek Group Chief Food Officer Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo in a written statement, Wednesday (19/1/2022).
Catherine explained, this innovation was deliberately presented to support the operational process of ordering food on the Order at once feature. Simultaneous Order is one of the GoFood features that allows customers to order food or drinks from many restaurants at once in one location, through one delivery. Until now, the Order Simultaneous feature can be used in 41 locations in 7 major cities including Jabodetabek, Bandung and Surabaya. As of mid-2021, this location expansion for Orders at Once has increased 8-fold since its introduction in September 2020.
Not only that, this latest innovation can also facilitate the work of driver partners. Because this robot will consolidate orders from several merchants in the foodcourt so that driver partners only need to pick up orders at one pick up point.
Catherine said the adoption of this robot technology is a collaboration with Pudu Robotics through PT Pudu Robot Indonesia whose trials will be carried out in the Food Temptation Mall Kelapa Gading (MKG) area until around mid-March 2022.
"We realize that the whole process is important in providing a pleasant experience for customers, MSME partners, and driver partners. This automatic robot is expected to continue to support simpler operations so that it can be useful for all partners who serve customer orders," added Catherine.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pudu Robot Indonesia Calvin Lukmantara said his party was very enthusiastic about collaborating with GoFood. According to him, this is based on the fact that Pudu Robot has the same belief as Gojek that technology can make life easier.
"As a company that both believes in the benefits of technology to make life easier, of course we are really looking forward to how Pudu Robotics products can support Gojek and GoFood to continue to be at the forefront and become the mainstay of customers," said Calvin.
For the greatness of the robot itself, Calvin explained, Bellabot has been wrapped with sophisticated technology. In fact, the 3D sensors and modular framework found in Bellabot can make the robot safer if an object is blocked.
The operation of this robot is also quite easy and modern. Calvin revealed, this robot can be operated in many ways, from voice to touch. Bellabot also has the ability to navigate accurately from one point to another, according to the area the robot operates in.
"We can't wait to see what GoFood can achieve through the use of BellaBot in one of its features," Calvin concluded.
