Because it has gone viral in Malaysia, Les Copaque as the animation studio that made Upin Ipin also talk. They rectified the issue of the presumption that Upin Ipin died. Les Copaque asserts that Upin Ipin is a fictitious character.
"It is not taken or inspired from the story of anyone who is still alive or who has passed away," they said as quoted by us, Tuesday (19/1/2022).
Les Copaque confirmed that the idea of the story was from Hajah Ainon, Opah's voice actor and Haji Burhanuddin, Tok Dalang's voice, as well as the Managing Director of Les' Copaque Production.
“He also shared his experience of growing up in the village in the Upin & Ipin series,” Les Copaque said.
Les Copaque also explained why the story of Upin Ipin was made as an orphan and bald. It is purely to facilitate the story and the animation process due to the limited budget and human resources of the animator.
So it's clear, Upin Ipin is just a fictional character. The graveyard video just happens to have the same name. It is also necessary to search whether it is a real grave or just an example, aka a false grave.
