Nintendo Switch has five times better sales than PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X/S. Even if they are combined, the total can't match Nintendo's handheld consoles.
This applies to all models, including Lite, OLED and standard versions. PlayStation 5 alone has managed to sell at least 942,798 units. The number is 10 times more, when compared to the 95,598 Xbox Series X/S units that gamers have purchased over the past year.
The total that was successfully picked up by Switch was 5.3 million units in Japanese retail last year. It is calculated from all sales from 28 December 2020 to 19 December 2021, quoted by us from Games Industry, Monday (10/1/2021).
This figure can be said to be equivalent to the previous year, on December 30, 2019 to December 6, 2020. In which gamers bought 5.1 million Nintendo Switch.
The benefits received cannot be separated from the support provided by Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Its popularity is increasing, as calls to stay home during the pandemic are echoed.
Includes boosts from Monster Hunter Rise, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury at launch. These titles are able to maintain the existence of Nintendo's handheld console.
Even the three of them were able to enter the top 10 best-selling games in Japan, for the period from December 28, 2020 to December 5, 2021. Here's a list of rankings that gamers can see.
