Nvidia Releases Cheapest RTX 3000 GPU at CES 2022

In addition to releasing the RTX 3090 Ti, Nvidia also released the cheapest RTX 3000 graphics card at CES 2022, namely the RTX 3050.

Nvidia realized that this class 50 graphics card is the most popular graphics card, because there are three of the five most popular graphics cards on Steam, namely the GTX 1650, 1050 Ti, and 1050.

They also claim that there are still 75% of gamers who use the GTX line. So they think the RTX 3050 is a promising line, because even though the price is (relatively) cheap, it still has good performance, it is claimed to be able to maintain 60fps at 1080p for the latest games.

The price of the RTX 3050 is USD 250, has 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, is equipped with an RT core for ray tracing, and a tensor core for DLSS, as quoted by Techspot, Thursday (6/1/2022).

Nvidia said this graphics card will be released by their OEM partners starting January 27, and did not mention the existence of a Founder edition for the RTX 3050.

The price and specifications of the RTX 3050 are slightly higher than the cheap variant from AMD, namely the Radeon 6500 XT, which was also exhibited at CES 2022. The price is relatively on par with the GTX 1650, the graphics card line that was the predecessor to the RTX 3050.

Of course, this USD 250 is the average price set by Nvidia. The price in the market can be the same, but it can also be much higher. Considering that graphics cards are currently still rare, and their supply is limited because they are often bought up by crypto miners.

In addition to releasing the cheapest RTX 3050 in the RTX 3000 line, Nvidia has also launched its RTX 3000 monster, the RTX 3090 Ti. The appearance of this graphics card from the outside is similar to the RTX 3090, but its performance is much more savage.

The chip is actually the same, namely GA102 8nm, but the VRAM used is GDDR6X with a capacity of 24GB with a bandwidth of 21Gbps, or 7.7% higher than the RTX 3090.

Graphics computing capabilities are also 11% increased, to 40 teraflops, up from 36 teraflops in the RTX 3090.
