Bluestacks, the maker of Android emulators, released Creator Studio and Creator Hub which you can use to modify and share mobile games.
Through these two platforms, users can easily modify games based on the Cocos, Unity, and Unreal engines and then share them with other gamers. The ultimate goal is of course to reach more than four billion users and 4.5 million mobile game creators worldwide.
Yes, BlueStacks Creator Studio & Creator Hub opens up the possibility of creating user content to the global mobile gaming community. Modding can be done at three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advance.
Modding Basic involves playing with colors; for example, you can have a dark mode for games, similar to Instagram filters. Intermediate modding involves adding in-game effects, such as when you win or when you kill someone.
Finally, with Modding Advance, you can change 2D and 3D textures in the game, including game elements such as avatar outfits.
"By 2025, I believe the majority of mobile gamers will be playing modded games," explains Rosen Sharma, CEO and founder of Bluestacks and now.gg.
"Imagine searching for games and finding mod versions of your favorite gamers, streamers and fans. Making mobile game modding globally accessible opens up endless possibilities for gamers and creators, changing the way we build, share and experience mobile gaming forever, " he added.
Meanwhile Huabin Lin, Director of Technology at Cocos, said that user-generated content, in this case is a game modification, is a form of self-expression. Like changing clothes to suit one's mood.
"People will soon demand to only play games with mods to suit their mood, desired experience and preferences," added Huabin.
