Garmin released a new smartwatch with an interesting claim, namely the unlimited battery alias will not run out.
Usually, smartwatches have a limited battery. Some only last 1-2 days, but some can last up to 2 weeks. But clearly, the battery will still run out and need to be recharged.
Well, in the Garmin Instict 2, which is not as expensive as the Garmin flagship series like the Fenix 7, the battery is claimed to never run out. Of course with the terms and conditions that apply.
So the Instinct 2, which promises unlimited batteries, is the Solar variant, which can recharge the battery using sunlight. As long as the user spends sufficient time in the sun, the watch's battery should continue to charge.
The battery life itself -- without being recharged using sunlight -- can last up to four weeks. Much improved compared to the first version of the Instinct whose battery only lasted 14 days in smartwatch mode.
Instinct 2 is available in two variants, namely Instinct 2 45mm and Instinct 2S 40mm. Both are equipped with the same military certification as the Instinct 1. As a result, this smartwatch is guaranteed to be heat and vibration resistant, and of course water resistant to a depth of 100 meters.
The list of health sensors is also fairly complete -- for Garmin devices, such as heart rate sensors, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, Body Battery, VO2 Max, and various other sensors.
Of course, Instinct 2 is also equipped with GPS with Glonass and Galileo technology, which helps monitor its location accuracy, as quoted from Phone Arena, Thursday (10/2/2022).
Oh yes, the long battery life is also helped by the monochrome screen used. This monochrome screen is also claimed to make the screen easier to read even when exposed to very bright light, and the screen is coated with a strong scratch-resistant layer.
In addition to the Standard and Solar variants, there are also other variants such as Surf, Tactical, and Camo. Meanwhile, the color variants are Graphite, Mist Gray, Tidal Blue, Electric Lime, Poppy, Waikiki, and Neo Tropic. The smartwatch costs USD 350 for the standard variant (both 40mm and 45mm), and the Solar version costs USD 100 more.
