Developers and Gamers Unite Donate to Ukraine Up to USD 6.37 million

 


The indie gaming marketplace, itch.io, has launched a program with 736 creators, to help Ukraine in the midst of the Russian invasion. They gave a massive promo and managed to raise funds up to, USD 6.37 million.

By offering more than 950 titles, worth USD 10 or about 143 thousand, this is also well received by the fans. Gamers flocked to the online store and contributed to this positive program.


"As developers, we want to create a new world. Not to destroy the world we have. That's why we came together to present this charity package, in an effort to help Ukrainians," wrote itch.io, quoted by us from the official website.



Based on the description embedded by itch.io, all funds will be divided between two charities, such as the International Medical Corps and Voices of Children. Where is the allocation, which is 50% each of sales.


A total of 449,626 gamers who contributed to this fundraiser. On average, the amount of purchases above the minimum price is up to USD 14 , with the selling value of donations spread at USD 9 thousand .


Not only can you get tons of super cool indie games, but there are other categories too. Starting from game assets, soundtracks, tools, comics, books and misc. For the titles that are served, players can enjoy it on PC (Windows, macOS, Linux and Browser) and mobile.


So what's the game? There's SkateBIRD, CrossCode, Backbone, Liminal Horror, Dumpy & Bumpy, A Short Hike, Skyling: Garden Defense, Celeste, Evergate, Jotun: Valhalla Edition, The Lost Ark of Innkeeping, Chronology: Time Changes Everything and many more.


However, the Bundle for Ukraine program has ended last Friday. Where it is known that the enthusiasm of gamers is quite large, because in just 16 hours when it was first opened, it has managed to earn USD 1 million.
