Getting to Know Indonesian Facial Recognition Technology that is Recognized by the World

Facial recognition technology made by PT Digital Data Teknologi Ter Lead (Digidata) is recognized by the world.

This assurance was made after Digidata received certification for algorithm assessment in the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) category from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the end of last February.

For information, NIST is a standardization institution and one of the oldest science and engineering laboratories based in the United States (US). NIST is under the control of the US Government Department of Commerce.

FRVT itself is a test program for measuring the performance of facial recognition technology which is used as a benchmark for the sophistication of the technology based on algorithms that are owned and can be applied in civil institutions, financial services, and law enforcement.

This FRVT measurement test program is seen from the accuracy, speed, toughness, CPU and memory usage, as well as several other factors.

"We as investors are very proud of Digidata's achievements. This shows that Digidata is growing well and significantly," said Digidata Commissioner and CFO of GDP Venture, Benny Sudrata in a press release.

Digidata's facial recognition algorithm technology has reached the top 30 of 250 companies in the world that have participated in NIST certification in terms of biometric template generation, finalization, matching search, CPU and memory resource usage.

This ability is apparently inseparable from Digidata, who immediately studied with several law enforcement agencies as a pioneer in Electric Know Your Customer (EKYC).

"So we know what biometric technology is needed and really helps companies in tackling fraud," said Digidata CIO, Yogi Liman.

By bagging a certification from NIST, Digidata is committed to continuing to develop leading-edge, more innovative, and tougher technologies.

Currently, Digidata is in the preparation of the registration process for the next category at NIST. For example for fingerprint, iris, voice, object detection, and others.

Digidata conveyed that the preparation will continue to focus on developing and improving all the technology owned by the company.
