Culture is a pattern of behavior, overall attitudes, knowledge and habits that are passed down from generation to generation by members of a particular society. So with regards to that, South Korea and Asia are countries that are both located in Asia.

And about culture, these two countries have almost the same culture, you know. Do not believe? Let's look directly at 3 cultures in Asia that have similarities with Korean culture.

Respect to Elders

If you are a fan of K-Pop or Korean dramas, you may be familiar with the Korean tradition of bowing. The tradition of bowing is part of ethics to respect seniors or elders.

Well, the culture of politeness and respect for parents is of course the same as the culture of Asian people that we have embraced and taught. If in South Korea respect for parents is done by bowing, in Asia we are taught to kiss the hands of older people.

'Homecoming' Moment

Who would have thought that the habit of going home was not only done by Asians. Uniquely, this homecoming habit is also carried out by South Korean people during big celebrations. Koreans go home to celebrate Chuseok, the main harvest festival and national holiday in mid-October for three days.

Well, if you are an Asian yourself, you must be familiar with this homecoming which is usually done on the eve of Eid.

Traditional clothes

Brides in Asia mostly wear traditional clothes on their happy days. Likewise in South Korea. Korean society is known to uphold culture very highly. That's why on their wedding day, many Koreans wear traditional clothes, namely hanbok or other traditional clothes.

Well, for the wedding ceremony itself, the bride and groom wear the hanbok that is worn for the wedding which is called the hollyebok. Different from hanbok, hollyebok has different colors, other patterns and additional jewelry.
