Elon Musk just bought a 9.2% stake in Twitter for $28.9 billion. As Twitter's largest shareholder, Musk immediately asked questions about one of the most awaited features of Twitter users, namely the edit button.
"Do you guys want an edit button?" Musk wrote in a tweet on Twitter, as quoted by us, Tuesday (5/4/2022).
The question was made in the form of a poll for his followers. Based on our monitoring, the poll already has more than 800k votes and will end in 22 hours.
Of the hundreds of thousands of votes, 75.5% voted 'yse' and 24.5% voted 'on'. It's unknown if Musk's question is really serious given that the poll's answer options are full of typos, or if this typo is actually a joke that the edit button is really needed.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal responded to Musk's tweet. Interestingly, Agrawal's response mimicked a tweet by Musk some time ago when he created a poll asking whether Twitter was up to the principle of free speech.
"The consequences of this poll will be very important. Please vote carefully," Agrawal tweeted.

Not long ago, Twitter through its official account also said that they were developing an edit button. The tweet was uploaded on April 1 and when asked if it was just an April Fool's joke, Twitter gave a mysterious answer.
"We can't confirm or deny, but we can edit our statement later," Twitter said at the time.
Musk himself is an active Twitter user and has more than 80 million followers. He often uses the social media platform to make announcements, which sometimes gets him into trouble with regulators.
In recent weeks, Musk has often criticized Twitter and its policies for not supporting free speech. The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla even revealed his intention to create his own social media that prioritizes free speech and minimal propaganda.
