Opensignal recently released a 5G experience report in the Asia Pacific region. So, how satisfying is the 5G experience?
There are four categories that Opensignal does to determine a country for 5G. The categories in question are speed, experience, uplift, and extent.
In the speed category, South Korea dominates 5G for download speed, peak download speed, and upload speed. This Ginseng country is the only one that enjoys 5G download speeds that can reach an average of 439 Mbps.
In Southeast Asia, even though it has entered the 5G era, a number of countries are dealing with the limitations of 5G spectrum, as is also the case in Indonesia. As a result, South Korea, Japan, and Australia are at the top.
In the experience category, apparently Indonesia stands out in one measurement on the 5G voice app experience, where Indonesia is in second place under South Korea.
Likewise, Indonesia's 5G games experience is at the top, precisely in the 3rd rank behind Singapore and South Korea.
In the uplift category, Opensignal compares the experiences of 5G and 4G mobile networks. The Philippines is the best out of all the countries in Asia Pacific that have already held the 5G title.
For comparison measurements between 5G vs 4G in improving the video experience, it is no less beautiful than taking second place.
Meanwhile, in the extents category, South Korea is again the best in the Asia Pacific.
Opensignal said that 5G is a cellular service in the future, although at the same time there are still many uses of 4G. In Asia Pacific itself, many operators are expanding their 5G services by utilizing the latest technology.
"In many markets, operators have just launched 5G services, or are preparing for their first rollout. But the region also has markets, such as South Korea," said Opensignal.
"As 5G matures, we will see dynamic changes in 5G experiences across all sizes of Opensignal. The market is likely to change rankings," he continued.
