Ukraine's flagship Turkish drone turns out to be prone to problems

The Turkish-made fighter drone, Bayraktar TB2, became one of Ukraine's mainstays in attacking Russia. However, there could be problems that hit the Baykar company's drone.

As quoted by us from Defense News, Tuesday (5/4/2022) Ukraine claims its drones have destroyed hundreds of Russian combat vehicles. Reportedly, there are about 20 Bayraktar TB2 drones that Ukraine has deployed to deter Russia.

But the superiority of the Russian troops is still a problem. Moreover, the mobility of the Russian army may still be very large in the future.

"Ukraine did have success against the Russian army using about 20 drones, but mainly because Russian tanks can't move fast in the mud. In a few weeks, as the weather changes and the ground hardens, there will be more Russian advances. They will continue to aim for the Ukrainian surface. fly drones," says Defense News.

Now what might be complicated is, drone production from Turkey may not be able to meet the demand from Ukraine. Reportedly, the limited supply has been a big problem since the beginning.

In addition, if Russia is also getting ready to face drones like the Bayraktar. Bayraktar also has a weakness, namely that it is precise in targeting targets, but it is weak if it has to provide protection to the movement of the Ukrainian army below.

"The operational range of the Bayraktars is limited. They are controlled by ground stations, not communications satellites. That is, they may be within reach of Russian artillery and Russian missiles," Defense News added.

"At the moment, Russia seems to be consolidating in eastern Ukraine. If that happens, it will give Russia time to launch their drones into the battlefield and bring anti-aircraft systems to defend themselves against Ukrainian drones," they concluded.
