6 Ways to Make a Slow Laptop So Speedy

A slow laptop can interfere with work productivity. Reports that must be sent immediately or missed zoom meetings can happen because the laptop is too slow and often hangs.

If your laptop is slow, here's how to deal with a slow laptop as summarized from Panda Security. That way, the laptop can work faster.

1. Hard disk space

Ideally, there should be 15% free space on the hard drive. If the hard drive starts to fill up, removing some programs and files can increase the speed of the laptop.

2. How many tabs are unused?

If you are working with a large project, you often have a lot of tabs open and sometimes you forget to close them when they are not in use. Even though closing the tab can make the laptop work faster. Don't forget to refresh the browser too.

3. Delete files

Temporary files used for the installation process, caches and cookies from the internet also make the laptop work harder. For Mac, install the CCleaner application to find out temporary files and delete them. For PC, click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup.

4. Data backup

Backup data by providing an external hard disk. You can also take advantage of online services such as Google Photos, Amazon Drive, Dropbox and others. That way, the RAM is safe and the OS runs better.

5. Restart the laptop

Restarting the laptop can refresh the memory, this can also provide an opportunity to install updates. If you use a laptop non-stop, you should restart it once a week.

6. Remove unused languages

A simple way to free up some computer operating space is to remove unused languages.

On a PC with Windows OS, do the following: Settings app > Time & Language > Language > Windows Display Language. Select the Language you want and set it as Default Language. Select Remove language to free up space on the Windows system.
