Android On Windows Subsystem Now Uses Android 12.1 - More Large Screen Friendly

When Windows 11 was introduced, one of the most exciting features was the support of Android applications that continued to be integrated in Windows. It’s a bit of an emulator like Bluestack, but built to look like native app support.

This system is called the Windows Subsystem for Android, which allows users to install Android applications through the Microsoft Store in collaboration with Amazon or even through APK files. In the latest Insider update, Windows 11 has started using Android 12.1 as the basis for running Android apps.

For those who don’t know, Android 12.1 is another name for Android 12L which is a version of Android that focuses on larger screens, foldable screens and multi-tasking. This allows Android apps running on Windows 11 to be smoother with better control support.

When an Android application is running, it will look like a Windows application. While if there is an application accessing the microphone, camera or location it will also be displayed on the taskbar. Camera app support is also said to be getting better with this version.
