Every year, hundreds of trees are cut down and used to produce a variety of wood -based products, from furniture to a variety of items. This in turn leads to various resistances, especially when forest areas are not taken care of and cut down without control.
Now, in an effort to address the issue, a team of scientists at MIT is now successfully producing a wood -like material to produce the product - thus enabling logging to be reduced.
Through what is produced, it uses several materials to maintain the rate of density and firmness for a wood -like material. It can in turn be combined with 3D printing techniques in facilitating the production of any product with ease.
With this step, in addition to avoiding the need to cut down trees, it also avoids any waste - because everything is printed in 3D and does not result in a waste of unused material.
For now, this is being implemented at the study stage. It is not yet known whether this item will be widely commercialized or not.
