Full Moon Eclipse Will Occur Tomorrow, May 16, 2022 - 1.5 Days Before The Moon's Closest Position To Earth

The Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) is now sharing that the Earth will go through a Full Moon Eclipse phase tomorrow, which is on May 16, 2022. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is located between the sun and the moon, so that the earth's shadow will cover the moon.

The full moon eclipse phenomenon for this year will occur 1.5 days before the position of the Moon closest to Earth, which is at a distance of 360,297 km.

In any case, this phenomenon will not be visible from Malaysia, instead it will be seen in North America, South America, the Atlantic Ocean, western parts of Europe, and even western Africa.

It cannot be seen in Malaysia as this phenomenon occurs from 9.32 am, and ends at 2.50 pm. Because the moon was below the horizon at that time, then we in Malaysia will not be able to see fully.

On average, lunar eclipses happen about twice a year, and maybe we’ll be able to see them again around November.
