Google Wallet Is Back With Support For Keys, Cards, Tickets, Licenses And Digital Identity

Google Wallet is back at Google I/O after it was previously rebranded as Google Pay four years ago. In addition to being able to make cashless payments with NFC technology, the new Google Wallet adds features making it more comparable to Apple Wallet.

It can now still store credit and debit card information to make Google Pay cashless payments. Digital vaccination certificates are also supported to make it easier for consumers to visit countries that require proof that they have been received.

Airplane tickets and passes, driver's licenses and digital identity cards can also be entered into Google Wallet. More excitingly, Google Wallet also serves as a digital car key that only supports BMW vehicles at this time.
