MediaTek Now Comes With The First 7 WiFi Modems - Filogic 880 And Filogic 380

Last year, MediaTek promised to come up with a chip that supports WiFi 7 this year. Meanwhile, Qualcomm will come with a FastConnect 7800 modem that supports this new WiFi standard by the end of 2022.

With WiFi 7, it can offer speeds of up to 33Gbps. This WiFi standard also allows many devices to be connected to a single router. This means that if there are many phones, tablets and connected devices in the house - the speed and stability of WiFi will not be affected. If you feel WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E are fast, WiFi 7 is three times faster.

MediaTek now comes with Filogic 880 and Filogic 380 modems, the first modems to support WiFi 7 available on the market. It is built with a 6nm design for use on routers. The chip also uses artificial intelligence for better connection performance.

This modem uses 4 × 4 penta-band technology with speeds that can reach up to 36Gbps, supports Bluetooth 5.3, and 2 × 2 simultaneous connectivity for stable multi-device connection.

MediaTek has not specified which devices will use this modem, but it is expected that a demonstration will be shown at the Computex 2022 event and devices using this modem will arrive on the market in 2023.
