In the future, Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud streaming customers will be able to use this service through dedicated dongles for TVs and monitors. According to the Venture Beat report, this dongel will be launched in the next 12 months.
The dongel will be plugged directly into the HDMI port of the TV or monitor. Customers can then stream directly the games offered in the cloud through it. This is similar to what Google Stadia offered before. Among the reasons why dongles are offered is because Microsoft is experiencing the issue of lack of supply to offer their consoles to customers. Dongel will resolve part of this issue.
Microsoft previously confirmed they will offer the Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming app for smart televisions. This dongel targets users who may want to enjoy the service on a dumb television or computer monitor at home.
