Netflix announced a new feature called Mystery Box, a feature that works similarly to Play Something on Netflix.
The Mystery Box feature is intended for parents to help them find new shows and movies that are suitable for children.
True to its name, Mystery Box is a new way for users to discover new content on the platform. Admittedly, choosing a new show or movie to watch is not easy, especially when it comes to children's content.
This new feature will be available exclusively for kids profiles and will appear a place on the Netflix home screen.
To use it, parents and children go to the Favorites Row section at the top of the homepage and then select the Mystery Box option. After that Netflix will display a row of recommended shows or movies.
According to Netflix, kids are drawn to what they love - their favorite toys, food, songs and it's hard to get them to try something new.
"We're launching a new mystery box feature on TVs around the world to provide a fun and safe space for kids to discover their next favorite series and movie or reconnect with familiar faces." said Netflix as reported by us from 9to5mac, Monday (23/5/2022).
For adults, Netflix already has a similar feature - but it automatically plays something users might like based on their history.
The Play Something feature can bring up new movies or shows that are similar to those you've watched before, or just content that the user has watched before.
