Samsung is still mighty in the mobile world, here's the proof

Samsung continues to have stiff competition in the mobile phone business. However, the electronics giant from South Korea is still able to maintain its market share, even reaching its highest point.

Supply chain disruption pressures due to the Corona pandemic and the weakening economy have disrupted the mobile phone market lately, so sales sometimes don't match projections. But Samsung is said to be able to handle it well.

The proof, according to the research bureau Counterpoint Research, Samsung smartphone sales increased by 9% from the previous year in April yesterday. Whereas the mobile phone market in total experienced a decline of 8% year on year.

Samsung's sales were mainly helped by the best-selling of the Galaxy A series in the lower middle class and also the Galaxy S22 in the premium segment. Attractive promotions also help sales, particularly in the Latin American and Indian markets.

Another factor is Samsung's weak market share in China. The Chinese smartphone market, which has fallen due to the lockdown, continues to have an impact on other brands, but not with Samsung because their smartphones don't shine much there.

In April 2022, according to Counterpoint, Samsung's smartphone market share globally reached 24% so it is still firmly in the first position of the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

As quoted by us from Phone Arena, Monday (5/30/2022) the market share is also the highest for Samsung in the past 5 years. The last time their market share was greater than that figure was in April 2017 by 25%.

It is predicted that Samsung will still maintain that position until the second half of 2022. The arrival of new ammunition such as the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 is projected to be able to maintain their performance.
