Another TWS was launched to the global market today in the form of the Sony Linkbuds S which has been several times before. It is an extremely lightweight wireless earphone at only around 4.6 grams per bud but still has ANC, LDAC and IPX4 waterproof noise cancellation support.
With ANC each bud can last up to 6 hours and increase to 20 hours when used once with a charger pod. This charger pod can be recharged via the USB-C port. There’s still a touchpad on the side for various audio controls and a Speak-to-Chat feature that automatically pauses music when it detects the wearer is talking. The sensor on the bud also stops the music when it is removed from the ear.
To ensure good audio quality, the LinkBuds S is equipped with a V1 chip. Google Fast Pair is supported on Android devices along with 360 -degree audio and Spotify Tap. Like all premium TWS on the market, Ambient mode is also provided to allow external audio to be heard even with the ear bud worn.
Finally when paired with a smart device, users can summon virtual assistants like Alexa and Assistant to perform voice commands. A pair of Sony Linkbuds S sells for $ 200 (~ RM881) a pair in white and black.
