In early April, we reported that Starbucks was seen as interested in building a digital community that also included offering digital assets such as NFT. Most recently, Starbucks, through their Chief Marketing Officer, Brady Brewer has revealed details on how NFT can be leveraged to build Starbucks ’digital community.
Through writing on the Starbucks blog site, the company is seen wanting to develop an NFT collection that can be owned by the public and used as a community membership badge and provide access to a number of advantages as well as exclusive experiences.
Starbucks is also not a foreign brand in terms of showing artistic expression. It can be seen through the various products they have launched, and through these designs, they are ready to showcase a large number of NFT designs that will surely appeal not only to hardcore Starbucks fans, but also NFT collectors who certainly do not want to miss the opportunity to become part of Starbucks ’concept of digital culture.
The Seattle-based coffee shop chain company is also expected to work with other brands to develop exclusive NFTs similar to how they work together to make a variety of coffee accessories such as bottles, glasses, mugs and more.
Brady Brewer also said that Starbucks' knowledge of the tech industry in being among the first coffee shop chain companies to offer digital memberships, mobile payments and free WiFi connections will give them an edge to enter the sector.
Details such as the blockchain that will be used and when these NFTs will be introduced are not yet known, but it remains to be said that more further details such as design examples, experience and said advantages will be showcased throughout the year.
