Lenovo GeekPro Introduced as Steam Machine Competitor for the Chinese Market

A few weeks ago, the Steam Machine PC gaming console was introduced as a more “affordable” offering for those who want a console that can play computer games on their living room television. Recently, Lenovo has shown a similar offering for the Chinese market called the Lenovo GeekPro.

The Lenovo GeekPro is seen as a compact computer that is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 245HX processor chip that is usually used to power laptops and is combined with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB graphics card, 16GB of DDR5 memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. In the meantime, this computer also comes with the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system built in, compared to the SteamOS used on the Steam Machine.

However, the Lenovo GeekPro design still looks like a gaming desktop computer even though it has a minimalist design that takes inspiration from Lenovo’s own Legion gaming computer series.

In terms of port offerings, this computer comes with two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one USB Type- and, one audio port on the front; two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports and one RJ-45 Ethernet cable port on the back; and HDMI and DisplayPort output ports from the graphics card offered.

Lenovo GeekPro is currently offered in the Chinese market only for now at a price of 9999 Yuan (~RM6000). It is not yet known if this computer will be offered in other markets, including Malaysia.
