5 New WhatsApp Features You Must Try

 


Until mid-2022 WhatsApp has provided feature enhancements to its messaging service. They also bring many new features including Chat messages, group calls to cross-device message transfer.

1. Send Messages sharing large files to emoji reactions



In this text messaging feature, WhatsApp has added several new features and also added updating of old features to improve its performance.


* Share files up to 2GB



WhatsApp has also increased the capacity of the file sharing feature in chat. Where WhatsApp users can now send files up to 2GB in size at a time in chats or groups, making it easier for them to collaborate on various jobs.


* Reactions


With the reactions feature, users can respond to incoming chats with a choice of available emojis without the need to flood chats or groups with new messages.


* Extended Disappearing Message Duration


The disappearing messages feature allows users to send messages that will be deleted automatically after a certain duration. Users can also send media such as photos, videos, and GIFs through this mode. If previously the duration was only 7 days, now users can choose to be automatically deleted after 24 hours or 90 days.


2. Group Call


* Notifications when someone joins a group call


When someone joins a group voice call and they're not visible on the screen, you'll see a notification saying "X has joined the call".


This way, you can know when and who just joined, even if you're on a group call with a lot of people.


* Mute others in group voice calls


This feature gives you the ability to mute other people in a group voice call. You will no longer be bothered by loud noises like the television on while trying to hear other people talking.


* Send messages to others on group voice calls


This new feature allows you to quickly message your fellow participants, without having to miss an ongoing conversation.


3. Update on WhatsApp voice calling service


* Group voice calls up to 32 people



WhatsApp recently introduced the ability to make group calls of up to 32 people. Through this large group call, planning an event after the pandemic or a wedding with many people is not a problem.


* Hands-free voicemail


Maybe you are familiar with the situation where you have to re-record a voice message but accidentally release the microphone button. With this feature update, users can easily hold down the microphone icon and swipe up to lock the record mode.


You can also pause the recording and resume it when it's ready. This means you don't have to replay the recording if you're distracted or want to think about the message first. When finished, press the button to send.

* Review voicemail


Sometimes, when we re-listen to a sent audio message, we realize that someone else's voice has been recorded and interferes with the audio message. Avoid this by reviewing voicemails before they are sent, to make sure they are perfect and as intended.


* Flexible replay


Nowadays, listening to voicemail is more convenient. You can play voice messages outside of chats so you can do other things or read and respond to other messages. If you pause playing the voicemail, you can resume it from where you left off.


* Faster playback


Your time is limited but getting such a long voicemail? Now, it can play voice messages at 1.5x or 2x faster speed.


4. Transfer Android Chats to iPhone


In 2021, the WhatsApp Chat transfer feature can only be used to transfer chats from iPhone to Android. But now it has been improved where WhatsApp can be moved from Android to iPhone.


With this feature, users can transfer account information, profile photos, individual and group chat history, media, and settings. However, users cannot transfer call history or display names.


5. Changing Video Call background


WhatsApp presents a "background" feature that allows users to change the background image when making video calls (video calls). This feature is similar to the "Virtual Background" feature in Zoom.
