BMW Will Use Samsung OLED Screen In Cars

One evolution in car design that we didn’t anticipate was the increased number of screens in the cockpit. Electric cars are now more like a wheeled smartphone with a giant screen needed for vehicle system control systems, driving information and built -in entertainment systems.

According to ETNews, BMW has signed an agreement to use Samsung Display -produced OLED panels on their premium cars starting 2024. Up to 4 million OLED panels will be supplied by Samsung to BWM within seven years.

The success of winning a contract from BMW is a good good for Samsung to continue to dominate the world screen panel market. They have already supplied OLED screens for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 as well as QLED screens for American Airlines in -flight entertainment systems.
