Elon Musk is suddenly furious at dogecoin creator Jackson Palmer. The reason is, Palmer once called Musk a liar and not a coder.
In an interview with Australian media Crikey, Palmer said he once sent a message with Musk via Twitter a few years ago. Palmer said he showcased a bot he created that could help identify crypto fraudsters on Twitter.
When exchanging messages, Palmer said he felt Musk was not as smart as expected and not very good at coding. Palmer said Musk had asked how to run Python scripts.
"He's a liar. He sells a vision in the hope that he can deliver what he promised, but he doesn't know," Palmer said, as quoted by Business Insider, Sunday (5/6/2022).
"He's just good at pretending to understand. That's very clearly seen with the full self-driving promise from Tesla," he continued.
Not accepting to be called just pretending to be smart, Musk was immediately upset and attacked Palmer via Twitter.
"My kids could write better code when they were 12 years old than the crap script Jackson sent me," Musk wrote in a tweet on Twitter.
"If the code is really great, he has to share it with the world and make everyone's experience on Twitter so much better," he continued.
My kids wrote better code when they were 12 than the nonsense script Jackson sent me.
Like I said, if it’s so great, he should share it with the world and make everyone’s experience with Twitter better. If he does, you will see what I mean.
Jackson Palmer is a tool.

Palmer then complied with Musk’s request and shared his code that he had already uploaded on GitHub four years ago. In his tweet on Twitter, Palmer said the code he created was not too complicated but proved to be effective in catching crypto fraudsters' accounts on Twitter.
In the Twitter thread, Palmer revealed that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that his company would run a similar script. Palmer added that the code is now less effective because of possible sophisticated fraudulent tactics.
Musk, who is in the process of buying Twitter, also didn't stop there. In a subsequent joke, the world's richest man questioned Palmer's involvement with dogecoin, the cryptocurrency he often promotes.
"Palmer always forgot to mention that he never wrote a single line of Dogecoin code," Musk said.
Dogecoin was founded by Palmer with Billy Markus in 2013. Initially just a joke, dogecoin is now one of the most valuable crypto tokens. Shortly after its launch, Palmer and Markus left the dogecoin team for reasons of a 'toxic' work culture.
Musk's attack on Palmer is a bit surprising, because he is one of the biggest supporters of dogecoin. Even his two companies, SpaceX and Tesla, accept dogecoin as an official form of payment.
