iOS 16 announced at WWDC 2022 brought many changes, most notably the new look of the Lock Screen. However, this feature is called MIUI, as a result, Apple has accused Xiaomi of cheating.
Whenever an iOS update is introduced, there's always a claim that Apple is copying Android's features. But this time, for the first time, it was immediately specific that the Cupertino tech giant 'borrowed an idea' from Xioami.
So, as explained earlier, Live Screen is the main highlight in iOS 16. Users can customize the appearance, besides that users can use new Live Wallpapers, one of which is Astronomy themed.
In this Astronomy Live Wallpaper, Apple displays a view of Earth from space. As soon as the user swipes, the screen instantly zooms in on the Earth image.
This is what then raises accusations that the display is similar to the Super Wallpaper in MIUI. Earth-themed Super Wallpaper itself was introduced in 2020.
Even so, the view of Earth in iOS 16 is taken at a further angle than Super Wallpaper in MIUI. The animation when unlocking the screen is also softer than MIUI's close-up zoom.

To note this is not the first time Apple has been accused of cheating Xiaomi. Last year, when Apple sent a poster inviting a new product launch, it was said to imitate the design used by the company made by Lei Jun in 2018.
