Malaysia Records First Zero Covid-19 Deaths Since 18 December 2020

 


Is the Covid-19 pandemic over? The answer is no but Malaysia is on the right track for it to be given endemic status. Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysian Minister of Health announced that the country recorded zero deaths due to Covid-19 yesterday for the first time since 18 December 2020. The first Covid-19 death in the country occurred on 17 March 2020.



Since the pandemic began, Malaysia has recorded 35,732 deaths and 4,504,415 million cases of Covid-19 infection. Although zero deaths were reported, Malaysia still recorded 1680 new cases as of yesterday. The combination of vaccination and the wearing of face masks in the open has made Malaysia one of the countries that have managed to deal with this pandemic well.
