Meta Cancels Sale Of First Augmented Reality Glasses To Focus On Second Version Development

Facebook was rebranded to Meta in preparation for the digital platform service entering the virtual reality arena and also metamesta as a new social platform.

Along with this, Meta is seen wanting to introduce a number of sets of augmented reality glasses starting in 2023 to also introduce their metamesta world to the public.

But the company has confirmed that they will not sell their first AR glasses, which come with the code name Project Nazare next year, and will focus on the development of their second AR glasses project, codenamed Artemis.

The glasses that are being developed now will be used as demonstration devices to show what is possible with the AR glasses. Unfortunately, this means that the first Meta -released AR glasses still need several years in development time and will not be visible in the near future.

Among the reasons why this is happening is because Meta is seen to want to cut the investment given to Reality Labs as well as the AR/VR division in Meta. The declining revenue was the reason why the company reduced its investment in these parts, even though Meta was seen wanting to enter the metamesta arena.
