A few weeks ago, we reported that a number of cooling component makers said that the upcoming graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA would feature higher electricity consumption compared to previous models.
Recently, leading computer component information lever @kopite7kimi said that the high -performance NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card will come with an electrical power consumption as high as 420W.
If true, this graphics card that will use the NVIDIA AD103 (Ada Lovelace) processing chip and GDDR6X memory will show increased power consumption as high as 100W compared to the previous NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 model which came with a total TDP as high as 320W.
This may not be so surprising when you see that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, which will be NVIDIA’s most powerful graphics card to date will feature power consumption as high as 450-500W.
What may come as a surprising detail is the possibility that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card will come with a higher TDP value compared to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, which to us is a graphics card that is quite powerful and capable of running modern games on 1440p resolution with a high refresh rate and 4K resolution at a 60FPS refresh rate.
