Police Crush Illegal Cryptocurrency Mining Activities In Pasir Mas

 


Illegal cryptocurrency mining syndicates are not something new in Malaysia. Most were seen using hidden locations and also using electricity stolen from other premises to avoid paying high electricity bills.



Recently, the New Straits Times has reported that the police have busted another illegal cryptocurrency mining syndicate in Pasir Mas, Kelantan recently. They raided a house in the area, and found a large amount of computer equipment used to mine the cryptocurrency, estimated to be worth RM30,000-RM40,000.


The mastermind behind the cryptocurrency mining activity has also been arrested, who is a 32 -year -old computer technician, and it is also said that an investigation into the activity has been going on for the past few months.
