Dyson is a brand that manufactures electronic products at a sultanate price, and one of its new products on the market is the V12 Detect Slim, a wireless vacuum cleaner with the flagship feature of a laser beam.
Yes, laser beam. When I first heard of this feature, I thought it might just be a gimmick. Come to think of it, what's the point of a laser beam in a vacuum cleaner. But my opinion changed after trying this product.
But first, let's discuss the shape of the design first. The Dyson V12 is not big, with a weight of 1.5 kg. That's just the main engine, yes, the weight will increase when installed the various dust cleaning heads available in the sales package.
The machine is relatively small, fits in the palm of my hand. On the front there are three buttons, one for turning on, one for removing the cleaning head, and on the bottom there is a button for opening the dust collector.
Oh yes, on the back there is a filter to filter the air so it no longer keeps dust. This filter can be washed and reused. Behind this filter is a screen and a button that displays a number of information, such as the remaining battery capacity, setting the power level, and also how dirty the area being cleaned is.
The V12 can indeed detect how much dust is sucked in while operating, as well as sorting the size of the dust and dividing it into several categories. Such as below 60 microns, 60-180 microns, 180-500 microns, and above 500 microns.
For this part of the dust category, it must be admitted, its features are not very important. But there is one cleaning head that comes with a laser beam, and this feature I find very interesting.
So this laser beam will illuminate the surface being cleaned, and make dust that was previously invisible very clearly visible. We can see which parts of the floor are (apparently) still dirty and clean.
Regarding the power of suction, although small and wireless (which is usually lower strength than directly plugged into the mains), this Dyson V12 is very capable for all my needs.
Starting from cleaning the floor, sofas made of cloth, work chairs whose bottoms are like nets, to gauze covering the room ventilation. During the test, almost all the dust I cleaned was able to be picked up in one go. In fact, the M3 nut made of stainless which is quite heavy is often sucked into this vacuum cleaner.
The various cleaning heads included in the purchase package are also very helpful for cleaning different parts of the house. Includes Hair Screw Tool to suck up hair and hair that falls out on the sofa or floor.
The sound of the Dyson V12 engine is relatively quiet, especially in eco mode. In this mode, apart from being the quietest, the battery life is also the highest (up to 60 minutes). While in the loudest mode or Boost, the sound is indeed much louder but not louder than some vacuum cleaners I've ever owned.
So, what's the conclusion? With a price in the range of Rp. 12 million, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim is indeed not cheap, especially when there are a number of other vacuum cleaners (wireless and claiming relatively the same suction power) which are much cheaper.
However, its fast suction capability, complete accessories, battery that has sufficient endurance, and its (apparently) useful laser feature make this V12 Detect Slim very pleasant to use.
