In Malaysia, the 5G network has yet to be launched nationwide due to various issues between DNB and major telecommunications companies. South Korea was the first country to launch a 5G network and now they are one step ahead after Samsung launched a personal 5G network for the NAVER company.
Samsung’s 5G network system used NAVER at their second 1784 headquarters to control 40 robots that move independently. This is done because it uses the NAVER cloud computing system which is also supported by Samsung's 5G network. The robot is on duty to bring the packages, food and drinks ordered by the staff. To reduce the processing requirements on the robot, all processing is done from a single main computer that uses cloud computing.
In the early stages this self -driving robot will work on three floors of the building only with it can take the elevator without any human assistance. In the future it will be allowed to operate independently on all 36 floors of the 1784 building. This project shows how personal 5G technology can be used for automation in the office when combined with cloud computing.
