A common injury suffered by mountain climbers is an ankle sprained due to an uneven surface. Climbing shoes usually have a hi-cut cut that should prevent this from happening but in extreme cases this is inadequate.
Terrein Footwear is a new company that is now launching climbing shoes that are equipped with a built -in piston to prevent the ankle from slipping. According to Terrein, the Betterguards valve technology will ensure comfortable movement but at the same time will lock the position of the ankle when detecting it could be injured. How it is done cannot be shared unless there is a special piston.
The shoes are offered for men and women but the launch date and as well as the sale price have yet to be announced at this time.
