Smart and successful, you could say Bill Gates is one of the almost perfect people. But it turns out, Bill Gates is an ordinary human being who also has regrets.

This 66-year-old man has admitted at least three things he regrets. This is about career and life. Launching Marca, here are Bill Gates' regrets.


1. Not using technology from the start for the foundation

Bill Gates struggled to become a philanthropist until he founded his foundation and Melinda French. However, he has regrets not using technology in the first place because he feels the impact could be greater if he did.



"These days I spend a lot of my time thinking about how technology can help the world's poorest people improve their lives," he recalled in a post on his blog, Gates Notes.


"This has been a big focus for me since before Melinda and I launched our foundation. But looking back, I think I could have started down this path even faster than I did," he continued.



2. Not learning another language

On a Reddit forum, Bill Gates admits he regrets not learning another language. He admitted that he felt stupid because he could not communicate in a foreign language.


"I took Latin and Greek in high school and got an A, and I think it will help my vocabulary, but I wish I could speak French, Arabic or Chinese," she says.


Bill Gates even downloaded the Duolingo application to learn French, but he still felt lacking.


3. Stay up late

Bill Gates is known to be a nerd, he often wakes up to finish reading books. But, he hopes he doesn't have to stay up late and give up his rest time.


"I read a lot at night and my biggest problem is that I stay up late and regret it the next day when I haven't slept as much as I would like," Bill Gates said.


4. Less sociable

Bill Gates once expressed his regret is not getting along. In front of his former student at Harvard, Bill Gates said that if he were more sociable he might be more successful.

"I wish I was more sociable," Bill Gates said in 2018.


"I wish I could socialize more. I wish I could get to know more people, I just studied, did well in class, and took a lot of classes," he said again.



5. Can't stop Android

He also once said that one of his biggest regrets is not stopping Android's pace to dominate the current market.


"(My) biggest mistake was... whatever mismanagement I did that caused Microsoft not to be like Android," Gates said.


"In detail, Android is in the context of a standard platform on non-Apple phones. That is a natural position that Microsoft wants to occupy as a winner," he said.
