Apex Legend Mobile, captures the local culture of Indonesia. They hosted a Wayang Kulit event, entitled Jagad Sandya Legenda.
Directed by Ki Bayu Aji Nugraha from Sanggar Seni Bajran Gupita, Yogyakarta, brings the story of the struggle of Legends (the name of the characters in the game) against evil. He also admitted that there are obstacles faced, in preparing for it.
"The obstacle may be because Wayang in this work, is indeed equated with the original character in the game. So in comparison, he is dealing with other conventional characters," said Ki Bayu in the show Jagad Sandya Legenda, Saturday (2/7/2022), in M Bloc Space, Jakarta Selatan.
Ki Bayu admitted, at first confused how to tell the story when the show was held. In addition to the new characters, the Legends use accessories such as masks.
"So what does he say in his heart. I sometimes think about his character. But there I went back to the original policy," said Ki Bayu.
He said that most knightly figures in conventional puppet shows, such as Gatotkaca or Abhimanyu, had their brave characters included in the figure. Then, if a woman is like the Wraith, inspired by the heroine's character when advancing on the battlefield.
"Oh the spirit of a woman like that, I have to animate and apply it, like that," said Ki Bayu.
Ki Bayu also explained, related to the selection of characters who accompany the Legends themselves, based on the protagonist. Where according to him, in a story this figure will definitely win.
"There I did not include a standard character, it means like Puntadewa. He is already a standard character and cannot be represented by other characters. But in conventional puppetry, there are extras, good and evil characters," said Ki Bayu.
Just for information, this puppet show tells the story of a good king named Prabu Jayeng Katong, against a giant tyrant named Prabu Godha Angkara. They are enemies for the throne of power.
With the rest of his power, Prabu Jayeng Katong, who was almost defeated, released Kyai Pamungkas's Heritage Arrow into the sky, in an effort to ask for the help of the gods. Then, three Apex Legends Mobile warriors appeared, ranging from Wraith, Bloodhound and Fade.
All three also helped Prabu Jayeng Katong, in defeating his enemies. Despite their differences, the Legends combine strength and succeed in upholding justice and truth.
"In this stage, in addition to wanting to introduce Apex Legends Mobile to the public, we also want to elevate Indonesian culture to the millennial generation so that it will not be forgotten.
