Being one of the richest individuals in the world is among the resolutions that will never come true for us because we don’t own a big company. In the 80s, it seemed to be a reality when Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah was listed as the richest individual in the world. Every year the Forbes list becomes the yardstick of the growing wealth of billionaires with Elon Musk now at the top of the rankings.
But for Bill Gates, he is determined to no longer be listed as one of the world’s richest individuals. He is currently in fourth place behind Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault. This will be done by handing over all of his wealth to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation established in 2020.
So far the foundation has awarded funds to find Covid, Malaria vaccines and build toilets in areas where access to these public facilities is very limited.
