Ducati Shares Electric Motorcycle Specifications For FIM MotoE Championship

Ducati will be the sole supplier of electric motorcycles for the FIM MotoE championship starting in 2023. Last December, the Ducati V21L electric motorcycle that will be used was shown without any information on its specifications and capabilities on the circuit.

This week Ducati finally confirmed the V21L has a maximum speed of 275 km/h recorded at the Mugello circuit during the test session. It is fast but still behind the 364 km/h circuit record set by the Ducati fossil fuel motorcycle ridden by Jorge Martin.

The V21L electric motor is capable of producing a power output of 148 HP with 140 Nm of torque. The weight of the motorcycle is 225 kh which is much higher than the weight of MotoGP around 157. The battery alone weighs 110 kg with a capacity of 18 kWh.

Testing for the V21L will continue to further improve its performance on the circuit. When the MotoE championship begins, the data collected from the race will be used by Ducati to launch their high -performance electric motorcycles for sale to the public.
