The MacBook Pro was updated again in October 2016, with 13-inch and 15-inch models now coming with a second screen known as the Touch Bar and also Touch ID integrated directly into the MacBook. This Touch Bar gives the user additional control as well as mimicry as a function key.
The MacBook is also starting to come with a new generation butterfly keyboard as well as a TrackPad with haptic feedback. Last year’s MacBook updates of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro removed the Touch Bar, but the screen is now notched, and Apple is reinstating MagSafe as well as including more very useful connection ports.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro however still remains on sale. Recently, the MacBook with the same design and the same hardware was updated with the Apple M2 chip and sold at a price starting from RM5,699.
On July 31, Apple will list the 13-inch MacBook Pro and 15-inch MacBook Pro, the first MacBook with Touch Bar, as obsolete or vintage devices. With this listing, users will find it difficult to repair the device due to problems in obtaining components.
Here are all the devices that Apple will categorize as obsolete devices on July 31st;
