Realistic Immersive View Features Now Accessible Through Google Maps

At Google I/O last May the Immersive View feature was announced by Sundar Pichai. Today the feature has finally been activated to global users. Through Immersive View, users can go to the map and see icons for popular landmarks. When pressed, the option to see the real state of the landmark in the form of a short 3D video can be watched.

With Immersive View Maps users can see for themselves whether the popular landmarks are worth visiting or not. In addition to showing the actual condition of the location, users can also see traffic conditions, weather, congestion and at certain times. To access Immersive View please update the Maps application to the latest version.
