Today, the Earth Will Be At The Farthest Distance From The Sun This Year

As many are aware, the Earth orbits the Sun in an elliptical or "imperfectly round" shape, making the distance between the Earth and the Sun constantly changing throughout the year.

Due to this, it leads to the farthest or closest distance between the Earth and the Sun in a given year. The closest distance to the Sun is called the perihelion, while the furthest distance is called the aphelion.

Now, the Malaysian Space Agency shared that the Earth will be at its furthest distance from the Sun on July 4, 2022, at 3:10 pm Malaysian time.

At that time, the Earth is expected to be at a distance of 152,098,455 kilometers from the Sun.

This is just a common annual phenomenon, and it is not expected to have any significant impact on the population of the Earth.
