Last July 2022, DNB shared that the 5G network had covered 25% of the populated areas in Malaysia. Now, after a month, the 5G network now covers 30% of the population area in Malaysia.
According to DNB's sharing with us, this figure was reached at the end of July 2022.
According to SKMM, a populated area is defined as having at least around 20 people in every square kilometer.
For now, the 5G network has covered the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru and even Ipoh.
The 5G network is provided by Yes only so far, and other network providers are expected to offer 5G services as early as September - after the completion of various agreements with DNB.
