ABM : Cardholders Are Requested To Monitor Bank Statements And Transaction Notifications From Banks

Further to the hacking that took place on the iPay88 payment gateway service, now the Malaysian Banks Association (ABM) has issued a further statement related to it.

ABM says they take data security seriously for bank cardholders across Malaysia.

The bank is said to have taken initial steps to protect cardholders from any incident that may occur due to the iPay88 hack. This includes real-time monitoring of fraudulent or fraudulent transactions, as well as different card usage methods than usual.

The bank will also contact the cardholder if there is any unusual transaction than usual in confirming the payment.

At the same time, ABM also asks cardholders to monitor bank statements and transaction notifications from the bank for any transaction through their card, and contact the bank if there are any transactions that were not done by them.

For information, iPay88 is one of the main payment gateway providers in Malaysia, used by companies such as Shopee, KK Mart, AEON and so on.
