In June this year, Airbnb banned users of their service from renting rooms and houses for party purposes. The barrier imposed temporarily due to the pandemic was maintained by the faucet and received a positive reaction from the host for successfully reducing the problem of customers damaging property.
Today they also introduced anti-party technology that can prevent customers from booking houses if they are at high risk of using the premises to party. The system will analyze the history of positive reviews, the booking period, the customer's distance from the location they want to book, weekday/weekday bookings and more.
Based on this analysis, house bookings will be blocked automatically. Customers are only allowed to book small rooms on Airbnb that are not suitable for parties.
This feature has been tested first in Australia since October 2021 with it successfully reducing the number of unauthorized parties by up to 35%. Currently this anti-party feature is only used in the United States and Canada first.
