The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processing chip was already launched last May, but until today still not many devices use it. The Oppo Reno8 Pro uses this chip, but is limited to the Chinese market only.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is a chip for new mid-range devices that replaces Snapdragon 7xx like Snapdragon 780G or 778G+. This chip is produced by Samsung using their 4nm technology, but this chip is expected to be used more widely around next year with the 4nm version produced by TSMC.
According to sources, this Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 4nm TSMC chip will be used by Xiaomi for some of their devices. The device that will use this chip is the Xiaomi Civi 2, a device that focuses on lifestyle with a thin design and the use of a camera for social media.
More resources, Xiaomi Civi 2 will use a screen with better colors. The chip that will be used is also expected to offer faster and more efficient performance. Xiaomi is said to have two or three devices with this Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip.
Next year, Qualcomm is also confirmed to introduce Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 chips. For the existing 4nm version by Samsung now, it has 4x Cortex-A710 2.4GHz + 4x Cortex-A510 processor power and Adreno 662 GPU, 5G X62 modem and Bluetooth 5.3m WiFi 6E, Snapdragon Sound and aptX support and up to 16GB LPDDR5 memory.
