China is now a world leader in terms of scientific research output, including high-impact research. This also shows that China surpasses the United States in terms of research output.
Through a study conducted by Japan, it is now found that China is the leader in the world, followed by the United States, and in third place is Germany.
On average, China publishes around 407,181 studies every year, far ahead of the United States which publishes around 293,434 research journals. It was also found that Chinese studies cover 27.2% of the most cited 1% of studies. In comparison, the United States covers 24.9% of it, while the UK is third with 5.5%.
Among the research papers that China focuses on are construction science, chemistry, engineering, and even mathematics. With this development, it simultaneously shows that China is now leading the world in terms of quality and quantity for scientific research papers.
