Sandya Widyawiryawan was so excited to stand in front of the Office of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) on Monday afternoon (1/8/2022). The young man from Cibubur also unfolded a paper that read "Because of the Communications and Information Technology, I Lost My Lives".
Sandya was ignited to join the demonstration that was planned to be carried out by the Student Political Block. However, the demonstration was not carried out, only a symbolic act of flushing pee in front of the Kominfo office.
This 22-year-old youth claims to be a creative worker. He often accepts work from clients from abroad. Sandya is often paid USD 15 per project. When he was harvesting, he could pocket hundreds of dollars per month. For payments, he always uses PayPal.
Because internationally, PayPal is trusted. According to him there is no alternative service to replace it.
Once the service was blocked, Kominfo made him dizzy because he couldn't withdraw the funds stored in PayPal. Because of that, he was moved to demonstrate at the Kominfo against the decision to block it.
"My friends have more income and experience greater losses due to blocking. I am doing this on behalf of my friends who because of this blocking cannot do their jobs anymore, let alone what they can do," said Sandya.
Unblocking PayPal for 5 working days according to him is not a solution, because there is no substitute service that can be used.
He also questioned the blocking carried out by Kominfo. Because this is contrary to the government's intention to realize industry 4.0.
"Why is the game blocked? He said he wants to make the nation's children create works. But what if the nation's children work, while the application used is blocked. How can it be done? Where can it be made?," he complained.
"Games are also blocked, they say they want to make industry 4.0, want to make gamers in Indonesia able to produce games in Indonesia, but the steam is just blocked. Is it crazy?" Sandy continued..
The question of PSE registration was something that also surprised him. Because according to him this is not done by other countries.
"Why do we have to register, even though other countries don't register like that. As far as I know there is no registration and it is a dangerous regulation because they have rights. For their own regulations, such as Facebook and WhatsApp can monitor us. Where is our right to privacy," he said.
Even though today's struggle alone is fruitless, Sandya will not stop. He plans to go to LBH to report the losses he has felt.
"I'm doing my own demonstration for the time being, but later I will join my friends at LBH and everything. I demonstrate myself while waiting for the others," he concluded.
