Delivery Partners Grab And Foodpanda Will Hold A Strike Tomorrow

The use of food delivery services skyrocketed during the pandemic while we were all confined to our homes. At that time, services such as Grab and Foodpanda were among the jobs that were not affected by the MCO. But now some Grab and Foodpanda delivery partners will be on strike for 24 hours starting tomorrow.

The strike action was taken as a sign of protest against the rate of pay received by those who were allegedly unfair. A poster went viral on social media urging the two meal delivery platforms to raise fees for delivery partners on their platforms and asking people not to order all day as a sign of solidarity.

This is not the first time strike action has been taken by shipping partners in Malaysia. In 2019, Foodpanda's delivery partners also went on strike because the company allegedly did not provide adequate payment.
